It's time to launch your creativity into overdrive! The FIFA World Cup 26™ Houston Host Committee is searching for the ultimate poster representing our love for the FIFA World Cup 26™. This is your chance to shine and put H-Town's artistic talent on the global soccer stage!

WHAT IS THE POSTER CONTEST?

The FIFA World Cup™ is more than a sports event—it's a global sensation, and every tournament is etched in history through its legendary official posters. But in 2026, we’re taking it up a notch! For the first time ever, instead of one poster, each Host City will have the chance to craft its own distinctive masterpiece.

We are calling on all Houston artists to express their interest in representing Space City to the world.

Submit your resume or CV, portfolio of work and an optional Expression of Interest, which includes your plans and ideas for the project while communicating your personality, qualifications and enthusiasm for the project.

 

Three finalists will be selected to create their poster for consideration, with the winning design becoming an emblem etched in history.  

 

So don’t miss your chance to capture Houston's vibrant cultural mosaic, the richness of our communities, and our unwavering passion for the Beautiful Game.

DETAILS

  • Artists age 18+

  • Must live in the Greater Houston area:  Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery, or Waller counties

  • Original designs ready for digital reproduction

  • No AI-generated art​

DEADLINES

  • Resume or CV, portfolio of work and Expression of Interest submitted by Monday, October 21, 2024

  • 3 finalists will be chosen and contacted by November 1, 2024

  • From finalist submissions, the winning design will be selected and submitted to FIFA by November 30, 2024

WHAT'S AT STAKE?

  • 3 selected finalists will receive $500.00 each

  • The winning artist will receive an additional $5,000.00

THE LAUNCHPAD

As part of the lead up to FIFA World Cup 26™, each of the 16 host cities throughout Mexico, Canada and the United States has the opportunity to design their own iconic tournament poster.  This poster will become the symbol of the city’s celebration of the beautiful game while incorporating Houston’s unique culture.

Poster design should consider the following:​

  • Promote the excitement for the tournament and the Host City through a unique local lens.

  • Recognize diversity and embrace inclusivity through self-expression.

  • Celebrate and reflect Houston’s distinct culture.​​

SELECTION PROCESS

  • To be considered for this contest, interested artists must submit their resume or CV, along with a link to their portfolio of work and an optional Expression of Interest, which includes their plans and ideas for the project while communicating the artist’s personality, professionalism, qualifications, and enthusiasm for the project.

  • Members selected by the FIFA World Cup 26™ Host City Local Organizing Committee will begin reviewing artist submissions and portfolios following the October 21, 2024 submission deadline.  

  • Between October 21 and October 31, 2024, up to ten chosen artists may be contacted by the FIFA World Cup 26™ Host City Local Organizing Committee for discussion and consideration to become a finalist.  

  • Three finalists will be selected and contacted by November 1, 2024, to begin actual poster designs.  From those submissions, the winning design will be selected and submitted to FIFA by November 30, 2024. ​

By submitting an entry to the contest and in case the submitted poster is selected to be used by the Host City of FIFA WORLD CUP 2026, the participant agrees to assign all rights, title, and interest in the submitted poster, including any copyrights, to Fédération Internationale de Football Association, located FIFA-Strasse 20 P.O.Box 8044 Zurich, Switzerland (“FIFA”). The participant acknowledges and agrees that FIFA shall have the exclusive and perpetual right to use, reproduce, distribute, and display the poster for any purposes related to FIFA WORLD CUP 2026 and any FIFA activities without any further compensation or approval required from the participant. The participant further agrees to take any actions necessary, including signing any additional documents, to confirm FIFA's ownership of the poster and to assist in securing any necessary intellectual property protections.
